Access to Coverage: Results from a Follow-Up Study

In June 2017, the Access to Coverage final report concluded that Access grantees reached more than 85,000 persons and enrolled more than 40,000 in public health care programs. Importantly, the Access grantee organizations integrated health care access into their ongoing work through additional staffing and resources, and support and training for outreach and navigation staff. One year after the final report we interviewed agency executives and lead staff to determine which, if any, of the reported staffing and organizational changes have continued. Health care enrollment remains an important function for each of the lead grantees, and each maintains outreach, enrollment services, renewal and other follow-up support to clients.
