The Foundation’s focus for 2023–2026 is on three key social drivers of health where we have strong partners, momentum, and history. These include Equitable Care and Coverage, focusing on increasing access to health insurance coverage and quality healthcare; Healthy Start, focusing on quality early childhood care and education; and Healthy Connections, focusing on increasing social connections and reducing social isolation.

The Foundation incorporated perspectives from our grantees and other key partners into our new plan. The insights we gathered helped us take a deeper look at community assets and challenges, and identify opportunities to help build healthier generations.
The main themes of these conversations were that racism continues to be a public health crisis, that racial inequities are ongoing, and that caregivers and community organizations are under immense pressure to respond to community needs.
Participants underscored the need for the Foundation and other funders to continue collaborative efforts to address systemic racism and provide partners with flexibility and long-term support.
At the beginning of 2021, we conducted our fourth round of the Grantee Perception Report, an anonymous survey conducted by the Center for Effective Philanthropy (CEP). The survey allows us to see change over time and compare ourselves to nearly 300 foundations nationwide. We will continue to use these surveys to help guide our future strategic planning.
